THE COMPLETE HIVE TO TABLE EXPERIENCE

Like Hawaii's sunshine showers, our seasonal tropical honey varietals are the essence of Hawaii's liquid gold. Naturally infused with the floral accents of the seasonal nectar flows of Hawaii Island's eastern coastline, Pualani Bee Farmʻs raw honey delivers the warmth and sweetness of tropical blossoms in every jar. The continually changing character of nectar flows in eastern Hawaii ensures that each harvest is a reflection of its terroir—the uniqueness of the place, time, and geography in which the bees produce the honey.

Throughout the year, Pualani Bee Farm's honeybees produce the single-estate Tropical Wildflower Honey varietal by naturally blending the nectar of diverse floral sources which they forage from the rainforests in and around the ahupua'a, or traditional Hawaiian land division, of Wa'a Wa'a. Quintessential.ly rich in flavor and sweetness, this amber-colored honey is a classic, must-have Hawaiian wildflower honey unlike any other found in North America.

Ohia Lehua blossoms
Liquid honey

From the spring to early summer, our bees produce the highly-prized single-estate, Ohia Lehua Honey. This mono-floral varietal is known for its subtle sweetness, naturally crystallized texture, and color that transforms from butter-yellow to ivory. One of the rarest varietals in the world, this honey is produced only in Hawaii as it is sourced primarily from the Ohia Lehua plant, an endemic native Hawaiian flowering tree known for its fiery red pom-pom-like flowers.

With the addition of a handful of bee hives now on host lands near Volcano and Mountain VIew villages, we occasionally offer small, exclusive harvests of what we call our Volcano Gold honey. Foraging for 4-8 months in the cool and misty Ohia Lehua rainforests between 1700 to 3700 feet above sea level on Kilauea's uppermost eastern flanks, our highland bees take their sweet time producing this exquisitely creamy "champagne" of raw Hawaiian honey between the months of March and November.

During the height of the hot summer months, Barbara and her bees collaborate in their creative effors to make sun-infused honey varietals using 100% Hawaii-grown agricultural products, such as cacao, ginger, and vanilla, sourced from local organic farmers as eell as am all time favorite: a wildflower honey infused with Tanzanian spices from the exotic island of Zanzibar.

100% raw Hawaiian Bee Pollen

HARVESTED

FRESH

DAILY

In Hawaii, honeybees translate the rainbow of sunshine-filled flowers of the islands' plant life into colorful granules of bee pollen. Honeybees forage their local environment to produce bee pollen by mixing the fine dust of flower pollen, nectar, enzymes, honey, beeswax, and bee secretions to form protein-rich granules, which they feed to the honeybee larvae.

At Pualani Bee Farm, the surrounding rainforests offer our honeybees a diverse, abundant, and rich menu of plants to forage throughout the year. thus enabling the sustainable collection of surplus bee pollen--a superfood for human consumption--without harming the health and wellbeing of the hive. Depending on the seasonal availability of different flowering plants from which the bees forage, the colors of bee pollen granules can be white, yellow, orange, red, green, brown, and black.

With over 250 biologically active substances, bee pollen is filled with nutrients, including amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, and antibiotics. Besides the general nutritional value of bee pollen, researchers also recommend it for numerous health benefits, such as to fight chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes. It is also known to lower heart risk factors, boost liver function, improve the immune system, reduce inflammation and swelling, kill bacteria, prevent infections, heal wounds, ease menopausal symptoms, and improve overall metabolism, among other conditions.

Bees produce a natural resinous substance, called propolis, or bee glue, from the sap and parts of plants, such as needle-leaved trees or evergreens. They use this compound as a coating to build their hives, smooth out the internal walls, repair gaps or cracks in the hive,, insulate, and keep out external pests and invaders.

For thousands of years, ancient civilizations have obtained propolis from beehives for medicinal purposes. Today, researchers have identified propolis as having more than 300 compounds that include antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. The majority are polyphenols or antioxidants that fight disease and benefit the human body. For example, propolis has shown to be effective in improving the effects of upper respiratory tract infections, common cold, sore throat, flu-like infections, wound healing, burns, acne, herpes simplex and herpes genitalis, neurodermatitis, diabetes, stomach ulcers, gingivitis, and inflammation, among others. Rarely available in its pure straight-from-the-hive form, Pualani natural raw propolis can be processed into a variety of forms, including orally in powder, tablet, liquid extract, and capsule form or applied topically in salves, creams, ointments, lotions, and tinctures, Before using propolis or propolis derivative products,, healthcare providers should be consulted about the proper dosage, method of extraction, interactions, and duration of use,
