Pualani Bee Farm introduces Pele's Passion, the newest addition to our seasonally available series of sun-infused honeys. Pele's Passion is the perfect blend of “sweet and naughty.” Inspired by the blazing hot intensity and tempestuous passions of Hawaii Island's volcano goddess, Pele, this Tropical Wildflower Honey is sun-infused with Chocolate Habanero peppers grown in our very own garden.

The lantern-shaped Chocolate Habanero peppers, also known as Black Habaneros, are considered to be one of the hottest in the world! Enthusiasts love its unique smoky and earthy spiciness. Rated between 425,000 and 577,000 on the Scoville scale, these peppers have a hotter burn than a regular habanero. Taking the serious punch of Chocolate Habaneros into consideration, we introduce small, dehydrated bits of the seeded peppers into our Tropical Wildflower Honey, warmed up by the sun, allowing the honey to absorb just the right amount of a surprising bite. We then filter out the pepper to stop the infusion, resulting in an exotic blend of rich, floral sweetness with distinct notes of earthiness and bitter chocolate and a slow rising aftertaste of blazing heat that tickles and tingles on its way down your throat. Heat lovers beware of its increasing stealth!

Pele’s Passion makes an excellent addition to salsas, chutneys, and hot sauces or drizzled over pizza. Spread this infused honey over fresh pieces of toast for a spicy morning wake-up or douse it onto fruit, such as mango, pineapple, kiwi, peach, raspberries, and strawberries for a fiery snack. Dripped into any foods, Pele's Passion will add a serious strike of fire!
