Eden's Nectar Reserve Honey is a new addition to Pualani Bee Farm's honey varietals. Derived from a handful of bee colonies that we have relocated to Eden Roc subdivision, these upland bees forage at about 1800 feet above sea level, just north of Kilauea's upper east rift zone, surrounded by a lush, cool rainforest of native Ohia Lehua trees. Our bees at Eden Roc enjoy a mild climate that ranges between 5-7 degrees cooler than the coast and 5-7 degrees warmer than Kilauea's summit region.
Eden's Nectar is a bee's blend, which they produce by foraging predominantly from the flaming red flowers of the towering Ohia Lehua trees as well as from the blossoms of low-growing, shade-loving tropical plants in the forest's understory. This varietal yields the mild sweetness typical of Lehua honey but with a diversified floral taste profile. Like its Volcano Gold cousin, Eden's Nectar promises to be a fast-crystallizing varietal with cream-color and velvety-smooth texture.
