During the spring and summer months on the east side of Hawaii's Big Island, our bees spend most of their day foraging among the diverse wildflowers, flowering vines, shrubs, and flowering trees of Wa'a Wa'a and its neighboring Nanawale Forest. Feasting from the abundance of seasonally blooming ohia lehua, kukui nut, avocado, palm, eucalyptus, mango, papaya, and other tropical fruit trees, these are the busiest honey-producing months of the year. At Pualani Bee Farm, we harvest the honey in small batches, allowing this classic single-estate varietal to show off its smooth texture, rich sweetness, amber color, and a complex range of floral notes that epitomize the bees' natural sense of aromatic blending.
