Ohia Lehua is one of the world's rarest honey varietals, derived from the nectar of tree of the native Hawaiian Ohia Lehua tree, which grows only here on our volcanic islands. It is a delicate and uniquely flavored varietal with a subtle floral sweetness. When freshly extracted, Ohia Lehua Honey has a clear, light golden color and a velvety consistency. Within just weeks, the liquid honey crystallizes into a light cream color and a thick, opaque crunchy consistency. This honey varietal spreads beautifully on fresh toast and butter; complements appetizers of fruit, cheese, and crackers; and is easily enjoyed as is, typically by the spoonful!
